Primary Responsibility:

The New York Foodservice Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for building Libbey’s foodservice business; identifying and exploiting new business opportunities; developing and maintaining strong customer relationships; offering outstanding customer service; achieving and exceeding planned sales levels; developing business plans and targets for customer accounts; successfully selling Libbey Marketing programs, products and promotions at the distributor and end user level; and supporting Libbey’s overall Foodservice efforts in the New York market.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims - especially managing personal time and productivity.
  • Maintain our existing customers, and develop new business through sales efforts primarily at the end user level.
  • Identify and exploit opportunities to broaden Libbey’s customer base at the end user level.
  • Break down regional and district plans into clear actionable goals, priorities and actions.
  • Develop business plans and targets for Foodservice growth through partnerships with customer accounts.
  • Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems. Maintain current database on customers and prospects
  • Plan and carry out sales efforts to integrate with Libbey marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions, advertising, merchandising, etc.
  • Communicate product and service opportunities, special developments, competitive information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Communicate and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business.
  • Collaborate with other sales associates, Engineering, NPD and other departments regarding new product and competitive information, as well as communicating field and quality issues.
  • Proactively and effectively assist in resolving issues in partnership with Customer Service.
  • Communicate and train customers on Libbey products and range of value-added services.
  • Submit credible, accurate forecasts of monthly sales volume, based on close connection to customer business plans, inventory builds, product mix and growth objectives
  • Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned, such as participating in customer trade shows and sales meetings, assist with payment collections, address service and shipping related concerns, etc.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years direct selling experience in food service and/or hospitality industry preferred
  • Pay level based on experience
  • Highly motivated sales candidates only

 

Qualifications

  • Strong negotiations skills.  Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – one on one and written.
  • Forecasting and business planning experience
  • Strong organization skills.  Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a home office environment.
  • Interest in foodservice industry related subjects and topics, such as food preparation and meal service, beverage presentations, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image.
  • Work requires local travel to current customers and end users. This requires the possession of a valid state drivers license and clean driving record.
