Primary Function:

Provide both leadership and support for production to deliver operational performance improvements and improved process control throughout Libbey’s manufacturing & support processes



  • Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes. Review and analyze results.
  • Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
  • Coordinate pre-launch production trial run process monitoring.
  • Maintain Control Plans throughout production runs.
  • Application of Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodology
  • Lead process improvement teams
  • Collaborate with, lead, support, coach continuous improvement leaders throughout all levels of the organization



  • Engineering or Technical Degree
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • 1-5 years’ experience required in the application of Six Sigma, Lean & Problem Solving methodologies in manufacturing


  • Applied knowledge of statistical analysis of Descriptive Statistics and advanced statistics and LSS tools
  • Applied knowledge of Lean concepts such as value stream mapping and tools commonly used to eliminate waste, including kaizen, 5S, error proofing, and development and training of standardized work, etc.
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Effective project management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite:   Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Visio
  • Proficient in statistical software:   Minitab, Excel XL or others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills:  communication, facilitation, coaching, consulting, influencing change


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be willing to work swing shift
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment (noise, high temperature)
