Position Title:        Project Manager, Business Technology Solutions

Reports To:            Director, Business Tech Solutions

A key position within the Corporate Information Technology (IT) organization responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within time, budget and scope. This individual works directly with business and technical associates as well as outside partners and vendors to deliver business solutions meeting the organizational strategic vision.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects through the Libbey Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by following established processes, procedures, and utilizing common project management tools. Responsible for all planning, coordinating, and execution and will lead project status meetings. Maintains and controls project budget, schedule and resources
  • Develops a detailed project plan to track and monitor progress. Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Ensure assigned resources are informed and accountable for target milestone dates.
  • Coordinates internal resources and third-party vendors/partners for flawless execution of projects
  • Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Manages changes to project scope, project schedule and project costs.
  • Provides regular project status reports with versions tailored to the appropriate audience
  • Escalates issues timely and appropriately
  • Create and maintain project documentation including but not limited to; project plan, communication plan, issues log, lost time log
  • Meets budgetary objective and makes adjustment to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and customers;   
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Track project milestones and deliverables and report status
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
  • Issue status reports to the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Conduct project “lessons learned” meetings and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field/equivalent work experience
  • 3-7 years of IT or functional project management experience is required
  • 3-7 years of project leadership responsibility managing small to midsize teams
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) desired
  • Dynamics 365 training and/or certification preferable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak to technical-level staff and summarize communications for executive consumption
  • Utilizes project management software tools such as MS Project, Primavera or Workfront to effectively manage, monitor and control project activities
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops and Microsoft Teams desirable
  • Works well with others in an integrated team environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to facilitate project planning sessions with both functional and IT team and functional requirements gathering
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Intercultural competence
  • Demonstrated success in medium and large-scale, global, business solutions implementations projects

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Business Knowledge Associates in this role will require notable Libbey specific business knowledge
  • Should be able to communicate, verbally and in writing, technical or business information regarding the status of issues or projects to I/T staff as well as internal customers in language worded appropriately for the audience.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers with issues, concerns or projects in a clear and concise manner appropriate to the audience
  • Ability to comprehend the subject matter and present ideas in a manner that influences others to accept the idea 
  • Problem Solving/Troubleshooting – Proven ability to resolve challenging business or technical issues with minimal assistance.  Must execute efficient course of action for resolution of multiple customer issues
  • Ability to significantly contribute to the troubleshooting effort of various issues at the same time
  • May be asked for recommendations for when to involve vendors vs. continue the internal troubleshooting process
  • Must possess wideranging awareness of Libbey’s application infrastructure and adhere to and advise others on processes and procedures
  • Provide regular communication updates of statuses on issues or projects
  • Initiate or Contribute to timely root cause analysis
  • MultiTasking - Ability to engage in and contribute to several initiatives in a concurrent fashion.  Work closely with all areas of IT and business to contribute to the planning and prioritizing of IT initiatives
  • Technical Acumen Possess knowledge of technical best practices and SDLC
  • Business Acumen – Possess knowledge of business best practice and Libbey’s enterprise strategic vision
  • Accountability Must be able to follow direction and complete assigned tasks on time
