Professional Accountant II

Toledo, OH, US

The Professional Accountant II is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of Toledo and Shreveport plant inventories, including Fixed Assets.



  • Daily review of finished goods inventory transactions
  • Daily tracking of production against forecast
  • Monthly / Quarterly batch materials physical inventory
  • Preparation of forecast materials and review of actual vs forecast performance
  • Coordinate the annual physical inventory of plant Fixed Assets and provide Corporate Accounting with all necessary inventory reporting
  • Report all Fixed Asset transactions to include transfers and dispositions.  Apply property tag identifications to newly acquired assets. 
  • Maintain records retention inventory and dispose of records as appropriate
  • Perform periodic shipping audits to ensure accuracy of customer shipments
  • Maintain inventory balances plus journal activity for refractory and precious metal inventories
  • Monthly closing responsibilities including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Standard costing of new items and subcontractor work orders
  • Monthly calculation of cycle count accuracy



Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient  in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both  independently and in a team environment, and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Consistently exhibit Libbey values in all interactions with the Toledo Plant and corporate accounting associates


Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers to operate office tools and equipment
  • Frequent speaking/listening in face to face and/or phone conversations
  • Occasional walking/standing
  • Occasional reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling and/or crouching
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds
  • Close up vision necessary
  • Some travel required



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Entry level accounting experience either in a plant environment or at a Corporate Office
  • Excellent leadership, organization and communication skills
  • A passion to grow
