Reports to:   Tax Manager

 

Libbey, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Tax Analyst for a full-time position within its Corporate Tax department. This Senior Tax Analyst will have the opportunity to grow into a Tax Manager role with broad global responsibility over the next three to five years. The successful candidate is an intellectually driven, organized, and detail orientated individual with a desire to assume increasing responsibility over time.   

 

The position will report to the Corporate Tax Manager and is involved with a broad range of recurring assignments such as U.S. GAAP tax accounting and U.S. and Canada tax compliance, as well as special projects, including an underway ERP implementation and automation of indirect tax filings.  This
 

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of income and other tax filings in a timely manner
  • Assistance with quarterly and annual tax provisions
  • Assistance with SOX compliance
  • Maintenance of tax fixed asset records
  • Maintenance of tax calendar
  • Tax research
  • Assistance with tax audits
  • Special projects

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years public accounting tax experience or corporate equivalent
  • Mentally nimble – willing to embrace new projects and tax specialty areas not previously mastered
  • Ability to build effective relationships across business and functions in a matrix organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (including advanced knowledge of Excel), and the aptitude to learn to use new information systems
  • Self-motivated. Follow up on and take ownership of all outstanding issues on a timely basis
  • Commitment to strict deadlines
